Our community-minded sponsors:
Acme Food Co.
By Les Dickason
Although the ownership of Acme Food Co. has recently changed and some new people are in senior positions, sponsorship of cultural and sporting groups remains a high priority, and continues the past tradition.
"This gives us a good and important involvement with the community -- and it is good advertising for us too," says Ursula Funke,
the CEO of Acme Food Co. "We at Acme are famous for our food, and for our support."
Ursula and her General Manager Darryl Pierce report receiving at least one written request a day from groups for assistance. Despite budget restrictions, they support as many as they can. Sponsorship can range from gift certificates, to in-kind assistance, to financial support.
Western Edge Theatre is sponsored by Acme Food Co. because Ursula believes "even little companies deserve to be given the support
they need so that they can grow -- it is amazing what talent can be found in small operations in this area, and if we can help that makes me really happy."
Says Western Edge Artistic Producer Frank Moher: "Acme Food Co. is a real standout in their support of artists in our community. And their food is great, too. I recommend the Cobb salad."
